Dental treatment according to European standards with a tourist experience – Dr. Batkoski’s model for Ohrid

Ohrid is increasingly positioning itself as a destination for health tourism, as the number of foreign patients, especially from Italy, who come for treatments combined with a stay on the Ohrid Riviera is growing at the “Dr. Batkoski” Dental Center.

According to the announcements, a new organized group of visitors from Italy is expected in late March and early April, which shows that the interest in such services is continuously increasing.
The concept being developed in Ohrid is a combination of dental treatment with a tourist experience – patients come for interventions according to European standards, and at the same time stay for several days in the city and use the tourist offer.
This model is already known in several European countries, and is now being applied in Macedonia, making health services part of the tourist economy.

Health tourism brings a double benefit – direct income for medical centers and additional spending in hotels, restaurants and local services. Such initiatives contribute to extending the tourist season and increasing the number of foreign guests outside the summer period.

With increasing interest from abroad, Ohrid is gradually emerging as a regional center for dental services with European standards, which opens new opportunities for the development of health tourism in the country.
